WSL | Gameweek 21 | Man City go top | Arsenal & Man Utd win

In Gameweek 21, Manchester City went top of the WSL after thrashing Birmingham City while Arsenal and Manchester United solidified third and fourth place respectively with wins over Everton and Bristol City. Reading won a five-goal thriller with Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa played out a goalless draw with West Ham.

  • Aston Villa 0-0 West Ham United
  • Everton 1-2 Arsenal
  • Bristol City 0-1 Manchester United
  • Reading 3-2 Brighton and Hove Albion
  • Manchester City 4-0 Birmingham City

Villa finished the weekend 11th with 14 points from 21 games while West Ham are two places and one point better off ahead of their final outing. Neither side have been prolific this season, so it’s no surprise their meeting was goalless.

Everton never had a chance of catching 4th-placed United in the table and won’t be caught up by 6th-placed Reading, so they’ll stay 5th regardless of their defeat to Arsenal. The Gunners should finish the campaign in third as their goal difference to United is far superior.

Bristol City couldn’t afford to lose but did and now they’re two points adrift of safety going into the final game of the season. United have solidified 4th place.

Reading’s win saw them leapfrog Brighton in the table to 6th place. The two sides are level on points going into the final game, but the Royals have a great goal difference.

And finally, Man City are top going into their final game of the campaign, but Chelsea have two games in hand and can go ahead of the Sky Blues with a win. City’s win over Birmingham confined the losers to 10th place on 15 points. They go finish the season 8th or 11th depending on final day results.
