U23 Premier League | Div 2 | Gameweek 2 | Wolves thrash West Brom in Black Country derby

Wolverhampton Wanderers won the bragging rights in the Black Country derby, thrashing West Bromwich Albion 4-1 at the New Bucks Head.

Bernard Patrick Ashley-Seal opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute and Ryan Giles doubled the advantage minutes before the break. Ashley-Seal scored his second and Wolves’ third goal on the hour mark before Pedro Goncalves netted the fourth with ten minutes remaining.

Kyle Edwards scored West Brom’s only goal of the game in the dying minutes of normal time, but it was nothing more than scant consolation.

Middlesbrough won at home to Fulham in a seven-goal thriller, initially taking the lead through Ben Liddle, before goals from Moritz Jenz, Cameron Thompson and John Lloyd Harris put the visitors in the lead.

A Tyrone O’Neill brace and Connor Malley goal saw Boro come from behind to beat their London opponents 4-3 at Rockliffe Park.

Elsewhere, Manchester United eased to victory over Aston Villa, Norwich City emerged victorious at home to Reading, Newcastle thrashed bitter rivals Sunderland and Southampton earned a big win at Stoke.
