Manchester City played out another high-scoring affair to a London side and picked up all three points once more, beating West Ham United 6-4 at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur took a share of the spoils in Friday’s meeting at Anfield. Chelsea were the only other side to pick up a win in gameweek two, making light work of Brighton at the County Ground in Lancashire.
Manchester City raced to a 3-0 lead in the first-half against West Ham on Sunday, courtesy of goals from Nabili Zoubdi Touaizi (10’, 35’) and Benjamin Garre (18), before West Ham staged a near comeback.
Alexandre Silva pulled a goal back just before the break and United would be the next team to score after the restart for 3-2. However, minutes after the home side’s second goal, Rabbi Matondo restored City’s two-goal advantage.
Injury time saw a fightback from the Hammers but also saw them ultimately falling short. Alfie Lewis made it 4-3 in the 93rd minute, before Garre reclaimed their two-goal margin.
Oladapo Afolayan pulled a goal back for West Ham, but Zoubi scored his second of the game and City’s sixth to wrap up proceedings late on.
