Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all won their opening games of the Women’s Continental Tyres Cup, beating West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool respectively.
Arsenal took the lead in the 12th minute through Katie McCabe before Beth Mead doubled the score before the break. West Ham’s Brianna Visalli halved the deficit minutes after the restart, but McCabe grabbed her second and Arsenal’s third goal in the 80th minute.
Chelsea took the lead through Drew Spence before half-time and Fran Kirby doubled their advantage more than 20 minutes later. After Aileen Whelan pulled a goal back for Brighton, Beth England made it 3-1 in the 87th minute.
