U23 Premier League | Gameweek 21 | Canaries lose again | Newcastle leapfrog Fulham

In Gameweek 21, Norwich City remained at the foot of the Division 2 table after losing away to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, while Newcastle United moved above Fulham in third place after beating them 3-1 at Whitley Park.

Wolves took the lead against Norwich through Danny Armstrong before half-time. After the hour mark, Donovan Wilson doubled the score to give the struggling Canaries a mountain to climb.

The visitors fought back, however, with Diallang Jaiyesimi halving the deficit with 15 minutes of normal time remaining, but Wolves weren’t to be denied.

Wilson grabbed his second of the game to restore the hosts’ two-goal lead and they ran out worth winners at full-time.

Newcastle picked up an impressive win against Fulham to leapfrog in the table. It was the visitors who took the lead, however, with Josh Smile opening the scoring in the 11th minute.

The Magpies levelled the game after hour an hour when Víctor Fernández set up Tom Heardman, and minutes later Fernández got himself on the scoresheet to turn the game on its head.

Heardman bagged his second and Newcastle’s third two minutes later to open up clear daylight between the sides, and United held Fulham in the second half to pick up all three points.
